JSE closes higher on Tuesday

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) closed on Tuesday with the all share index ending 2.11 percent higher at 51,343.94 points led by 2.80 percent gains in financial shares.
The relative stability allowed investors to zoom in on beaten-down shares, which were spread across most sectors.
The rand was trading at R15.20 to the US dollar, R20.22 to the British pound, and R16.81 to the euro at the close of trading session.
The industrial indices clawed back 2.06 percent, while the resources index regained 1.76 percent.
Amongst the top ten movers was Kumba Iron Ore, whose shares lifted 8.52 percent to sell at R101.21 after investors exchanged 1,066,350 shares in 4,232 deals. Climbing 7.80 percent to R137.99 was Omnia Holdings, after 475 deals traded a total of 132,582 shares today.
Ranking in the top ten losers was Pan African Resources, whose shares dipped 6.82 percent after investors bought and sold 2,319,315 shares in 191 deals, sending the share price down to R3.55. Choppies Enterprises dropped 6.61 percent. Endit
