44 militants killed in N. Afghanistan in 24 hours

Up to 44 anti-government militants have been killed in the north and northeastern provinces of Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, a statement of 209 Shahen Corps released on Tuesday said.

According to the statement, several more militants have been injured, 93 others made captive and several vehicles and motorbikes of the militants have been destroyed during the period.

The statement, however, didn't mention whether there were casualties on the side of security personnel.

Taliban militants who are active in the northern and northeastern provinces haven't commented yet. Endit
