The following are the highlights of Zambia's major media outlets on Sunday

-- Immigration authorities in Zambia have tightened security at the country's borders as the country heads towards the 2016 general elections.

Immigration Department public relations officer Namati Nshinka said the department has drawn up an ambitious plan to deploy 96 offices to over 40 borders across the country to beef up security.

-- The head of the Zambia police has warned that any person found armed in public despite being licensed will be arrested.

Zambia Police Inspector General Kakoma Kanganja said there has been an increase in the number of firearms and other objects that are being used to cause terror and that the police are concerned about the increase in the number of these objects in public places. (TIMES OF ZAMBIA)

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has directed a government agency responsible for public procurement to ensure that all government infrastructure projects are constructed using locally produced goods.
