BiH still committing to EU path after UK referendum: FM

The reasons for which Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) opted for it's EU path did not disappear after Britain voted in a historic referendum to leave the European bloc, local media reported on Saturday.

"It is important for us to maintain the course of reform and to continue our European path," BiH Minister for Foreign Affairs Igor Crnadak said on Friday.

BiH should not be thinking about any foreign policy shift, Crnadak stressed. He also pointed out that it is too early to engage in serious analysis and decisions.

"Nothing will happen overnight. Procedures within the UK and those relating to the dissolution of the EU are such that this is a process that takes years. Therefore, we should be calm and look at the first implications of the voting results of citizens of Great Britain," said Crnadak.

On Feb. 15 of this year, BiH formally submitted it's application to join the EU. Endit
