Belgium police arrest two persons suspected of planning attacks

At least two persons were arrested in the early hours of Saturday in Belgium suspected of planning attacks in the country, local media reported.

Belgian police launched two separate operations in the cities of Verviers and Mons in Belgium, during each of which arrested at least one person, according to the Belgian public broadcaster RTBF.

The arrested are suspected of preparing an attack during the public broadcasting of the Euro 2016 football matches in Belgium, RTBF quoted the mayor of Verviers Muriel Targnion as saying.

Vierviers is planning a public viewing of the football match Sunday. Endit
