Chinese vice premier to visit France, Russia

Xinhua, June 24, 2016 Adjust font size:

Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong will visit France and Russia from June 29 to July 6, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying announced on Friday.

In France, Liu will attend the third meeting of China-France High-level Mechanism for Dialogue on People-to-People Exchanges.

In Russia, Liu will co-chair the 17th session of the China-Russia Committee on Humanities Cooperation with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets.

Liu will also open an exhibition hall on the site of the 6th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The 6th National Congress, held in suburbs of Moscow from June 18 to July 11 1928, was the only national congress outside China, due to the severe domestic situation. Liu and Golodets will attend the completion ceremony together.

"The congress is of special importance in the development of China's revolution," Hua said.

The hall will open to the public on the 95th anniversary of the founding of the CPC in July. Endi
