Azarenka to miss Wimbledon Open due to knee injury

Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka will miss Wimbledon Open due to her knee injury, the official Twitter of the tournament said on Thursday.

Azarenka withdrew from the first round of Roland Garros playing against Italian Karin Knapp, and since then she has not walked onto a court.

Victoria was training for Wimbledon in the Belarusian capital. She worked in the gym, as well as trained on grass courts of Minsk tennis center.

Last year Azarenka got into the Wimbledon's quarterfinals, where she lost to Serena Williams, the future winner, in three sets. Enditem
