Official calls for civilized law enforcement from police

Xinhua, June 23, 2016 Adjust font size:

Senior Chinese official Meng Jianzhu has asked police staff to be fair, civilized and professional in their duties.

Meng, head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks on Thursday at a meeting on police force building.

The fundamental tenet of the police task is to serve the people, said Meng, urging all police staff to regulate their law enforcement and improve credibility.

The police, described by Meng as the guardians of China's socialist cause, should receive modern training and enhance their capabilities,

They should also dare to shoulder their responsibilities and keep clean, he said. Endi
