Singapore stocks close 0.28 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 7.72 points, or 0.28 percent, to close at 2,793.85.

A total of 752.9 million shares changed hands with turnover of 690.5 million Singapore dollars (515.3 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 192 to 167, while 545 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 3.32 points, or 0.12 percent, to close at 2,786.13 on Wednesday. Endit
