Lu Ziyue, former mayor of eastern Chinese city of Ningbo, has been expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office following a corruption investigation.

Lu, also deputy secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Ningbo City Committee, was found to take the advantage of his position to seek profits for others in exchange of money and property, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) announced Tuesday.

The CCDI accused him of "losing ideal and faith" and "seriously violating the Party's code of conduct."

His case involving suspected crimes has been transferred to judicial departments. Endi
