Tokyo shares end higher by break on weaker yen

Xinhua, June 21, 2016 Adjust font size:

Tokyo shares ended the morning session higher on Tuesday as the yen depreciated slightly against the U.S dollars in the morning, but sentiment here is still weighed by the possible quit of Britain from the European Union.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 81.32 points, or 0.51 percent, from Monday to 16,046.62.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 5.05 points, or 0.39 percent, to 1,284.24. Enditem
