A survey published on Monday by Germany's Bertelsmann Foundation showed Spain is the European country which is most in favor of Britain remaining part of the European Union(EU).
Britons will vote on June 23 in a referendum which will decide whether or not they remain in the EU.
The survey shows while on average 54 percent of Europeans are in favor of Britain staying in the EU, 64 percent of Spaniards want it to remain.
It also highlighted that Spain is the most Europhile nation in the EU with 74 percent of those polled saying that if they had the chance of a referendum over their membership, they would vote to stay.
There are worries in Spain that a 'Brexit' could damage its economic growth. The El Pais newspaper reports Spain has an 11 billion euros (12.44 billion U.S. dollar) trade surplus with Britain, which is also Spain's main direct investment destination.
Almost a quarter of the 65 million visitors to Spain in 2015 came from Britain, with that number set to rise in 2016. About 400,000 British now live and work in Spain, while 100,000 Spaniards live in Britain. Endit
