Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Abuja, the country's capital city on Sunday after a vacation in London.
The presidential plane landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 5.32 p.m. local time.
The Nigerian leader was welcomed at the airport by members of the Federal Executive Council, Service Chiefs and other government functionaries.
Buhari told reporters that he is resuming work stronger and more energetic.
The president, jokingly, challenged one of the journalists, who asked him of his state of health, to a wrestling competition.
"You have seen me, you saw me when I was going, you can do the assessment by yourself," he added.
"You can see me inspecting the guards of honor, if you want to wrestle me, you can do so, but you know I'm taller than you," the president told the reporter.
President Buhari left Abuja on June 6 for a short vacation in London, where he used the opportunity to seek medical attention from a specialist on Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) for treatment of a persistent ear infection.
While on vacation in London, President Buhari hosted dignitaries including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and top party leaders.
"The president will be back on Sunday. I spoke with him yesterday evening and I think it is just the best that he takes the weekend off. He will certainly be back on Sunday," the VP said.
The Nigerian leader had informed the National Assembly of his medical condition and asked for 10 days off to attend to an ear infection in London. Endit
