Drone strike kills 8 militants including group commander in N. Afghanistan

A Taliban commander was killed among eight militants as a pilotless plane targeted a Taliban hideout in Dasht-e-Archi district of the northern Kunduz province Saturday night, an army spokesman in the province Ghulam Hazrat Karimi said Sunday.

"Acting upon intelligence report, a drone attack was conducted against the Taliban in Turki village of Dasht-e-Archi district late Saturday night, killing eight rebels including their commander Qari Ali on the spot," Karimi told Xinhua.

Taliban militants who are active in parts of the troubled Kunduz province haven't commented. Endit
