Xinhua, June 18, 2016 Adjust font size:

Five junior high school students, aged between 15 and 17, drowned during a school trip in southwest China's Sichuan Province, authorities said Saturday.

Six students from Songpan County got into difficulty while swimming in a pond Friday morning. Three of their classmates managed to pull one of the students safely to shore and called the police, said an official with the county's emergency response office.

The class were on a camping trip.

The investigation continues. Endi
