Gabon rehabilitats Sino-Gabon Friendship stadium for Africa Cup

Xinhua, June 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

Gabonese authorities have launched rehabilitation works for the Sino-Gabon Friendship stadium in Libreville in readiness for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2017) that the country will host between January and February 2017, an official source said.

The rehabilitation work is aimed at preventing any leakage and reinforce the metallic frames at the stadium that was completed in 2011 by a Chinese firm.

The 38,000-seater stadium hosted matches during the 2012-CAN that was co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations will be held in four Gabonese towns of Libreville, Port-Gentil, Franceville and Oyem. Endit
