Moroccan and Congolese tourism ministers said here on Tuesday the two countries are willing to further strengthen cooperation in sustainable tourism.

Visiting Congolese tourism minister Arlette Soudan Nonault told the press after a meeting with his Moroccan counterpart Lahcen Haddad that Morocco is a key partner for the development of Congo's tourism sector in general, and sustainable tourism in particular.

Nonault said his country aims to reinforce its tourism partnership with Morocco and benefit from its experience in developing sea resorts and leisure parks.

For his part, Haddad said the meeting seeks to examine means to draw more Moroccan and foreign investors to this friend country to assist it in implementing Congo's ambitious tourism development plan.

He said the talks touched also the issue of sustainability, notably at the level of the development of sea resorts, recalling that Morocco was one of the initiators of the African Charter for Sustainable Tourism. Endit
