Finnish parliament on Tuesday observed one minute of silence for the victims of the shooting massacre in the U.S. city of Orlando.
Addressing the chamber, Speaker of Parliament Maria Lohela expressed the shocking impact of the attack. She said there was no acceptable explanation for this kind of act.
She said violence never led to anything good but rather only brings new problems.
The wording of the statement kept a distance from the international discussion regarding the minority nature of the victims, and didn't mention homosexuality or sexual orientation.
The attacker killed 49 people and wounded 53 at a gay nightclub in Florida as the "Latin Night" party was wrapping up early Sunday morning. Endit
