Top news items in major Ethiopian media outlets

The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Sunday.

-- The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has released findings on the violence occurred in some parts of Oromia and north Gondar zone of Amhara regional state this fiscal year.

According to a report it presented to the House of People's Representative Saturday, the violence in Oromia resulted in 173 deaths, including 14 security members and 14 officials. And another 956 people sustained injuries. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)

-- United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has condemned Thursday's attack on Ethiopian troops at a base of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) in Halgan, Somalia.

"The Secretary-General calls on the people of Somalia and their government to remain resolute in the fight against Al-Shabaab and extremism," said a statement attributable to Ban's spokesperson. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)
