A Su-27 military plane crashed in the Moscow region and the pilot was killed, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed Thursday.

"A Su-27 belonging to the Russian Aerospace Forces crashed in the Moscow region while returning to the base airfield after a planned flight," the ministry said in a statement. (Russia-Crash)

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- At least four Indian army troopers were killed and nine others injured after a vehicle they were travelling in overturned on the road in Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said Thursday.

The accident took place in frontier Samba district, about 53 km south of Jammu city, the winter capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir. (Kashmir-Road Accident)

BAGHDAD -- The Islamic State (IS) group on Thursday claimed responsibility for the two suicide bomb attacks in Iraqi capital Baghdad that killed 23 people and wounded 73 others, the group said in an online statement.

Two of the group's suicide bombers carried out the deadly attacks targeting the security forces and Shiite paramilitary unit members, known as Hashd Shaabi, leaving a total of 125 people killed and 73 wounded, according to the statement, of which the authenticity could not be independently verified. HANOI -- Fatal lightning killed two and injured four people who were travelling in Vietnam's northern coastal Quang Ninh province on Thursday, according to the provincial healthcare department.
