Left-wing rebels attack Indian security forces camp in central state

Xinhua, June 9, 2016 Adjust font size:

India's left-wing Naxalite rebels attacked a camp of security forces in the central state of Chhattisgarh early Thursday morning, a senior police official said.

However, there have been no reports of any casualty yet, he said on condition of anonymity.

"A group of 100 armed Naxalites surrounded the camp of a para-military force in the state's Kondagaon district and launched rockets and fired indiscriminately," the official said.

A massive combing operation is underway in the area to track down those responsible for the attacks, he added. Endit
