Werder Bremen snapped up back-up goalkeeper Jaroslav Drobny from rivals Hamburg, the "Green-Whites" announced on Wednesday.

The 36-year-old goalkeeper has put pen to paper on a one-year deal, which binds him with Bremen until summer 2017.

"With Jaroslav Drobny we have signed a goalkeeper with great experience. He has often showed that he is ready when he is needed. The team will benefit also from his positive aura off the field," Bremen' s chairman Frank Baumann said.

Drobny has played for Bochum, Hertha Berlin and Hamburg among others. The former Czech international made overall 190 appearances in the Bundesliga.

The "Green-Whites" completed the season on the 13th place after securing their first division status with a 1-0 win over relegation threatened Frankfurt at the final match day of the Bundesliga. Endit
