Borussia Monchengladbach have signed midfielder Christoph Kramer from Bayer Leverkusen, both clubs confirmed on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old midfielder passed the medical and penned five-year deal, which keeps him with the "Foals" until June 2021.

"He know our team, he knows the club and he will play an important role within our young team due to his experience and his personality," Monchengladbach' s sporting director Max Eberl said.

Kramer knows the club as he played in Monchengladbach from 2013 until 2015 on loan, where he scored five goals in 73 appearances.

"I did not make the decision against Leverkusen but in favour for Monchengladbach. I made my first experiences here and had an unbelievable great time," Kramer said.

The Germany international was part of Germany' s 2014 World Cup winning squad. He made overall 12 outings for the "Nationalmannschaft" . However, he has not been considered for the EURO 2016.

The "Foals" completed the Bundesliga season on the fourth place to secure a berth in the UEFA Champions League play-offs. Endit
