Bulgarian GDP grows by 2.9 pct in Q1

Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 2.9 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2016, official data showed on Tuesday.

The GDP at current prices was 10.437 billion U.S. dollars, or 1,459 dollars per capita, according to preliminary data released by the country's National Statistical Institute (NSI).

Exports of goods and services increased by 0.3 percent, and imports of goods and services decreased by 1.3 percent, the NSI added.

Bulgaria's GDP grew by 3.0 percent year-on-year in 2015, 1.6 percent in 2014, 1.3 percent in 2013, and 0.2 percent in 2012, official data showed. Endit
