Indian PM greets Muslim community on beginning of Ramadan

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday greeted the Muslim community on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, called Ramazan in India.

"As the holy month of Ramzan commences, I convey my greetings to the Muslim community," Modi said in a statement.

"May Ramzan deepen the bond of brotherhood and the spirit of harmony in our society," he said.

The Muslim holy month of Ramadan began after the sighting of the new moon on Monday evening. Enditem
