China warns of disasters as more rain expected

Xinhua, June 6, 2016 Adjust font size:

China's national observatory on Monday warned of floods and geological disasters in southwest China as more heavy rain is set to sweep the region in the coming days.

Parts of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces should prepare for disasters from Monday night to Tuesday night, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said.

Rainstorms will hit parts of these regions from Monday to Wednesday, while parts of north China will see moderate rain and thundershowers, according to the NMC.

Heavy rain in south and east China has disrupted the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in the past two weeks, damaging crops and forcing many to evacuate. Endi
