Singapore stocks close 0.51 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 14.14 points, or 0.51 percent, to close at 2,809.23.

A total of 962.0 million shares changed hands with turnover of 741.0 million Singapore dollars (538.2 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 202 to 171, while 536 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 4.55 points, or 0.16 percent, to close at 2,795.09 on Thursday. Enditem
