China trounces Thailand 6-0 in women's soccer friendly

Xinhua, June 2, 2016 Adjust font size:

Zhang Rui hit twice and four others scored one goal apiece as China thrashed Thailand 6-0 in a women's soccer friendly here on Thursday evening.

To tune up for the Rio Olympic Games, Bruno Bini, head coach of China who made the last eight in the 2015 World Cup, still took the match seriously and sent on the strongest line-up against Thailand who wouldn't be at Rio in August.

Ma Xiaoxu, the AFC Women's Player of 2006, scored the opener in the 13th minute and Zhang Rui added two before halftime.

China doubled its lead after the break as Ren Guixin, Yang Li and Zhao Xue scored three more goals.

The two sides will show up again on June 5 in Changzhou, China. Endit
