Russia, EU may hold parliamentary conference on security

Xinhua, June 2, 2016 Adjust font size:

Russia and the European Union may hold a parliamentary conference on security in the second half of this year, the Russian news agency TASS reported Wednesday.

"I think that in the second half of the year there is a chance to hold inter-parliamentary discussions or a conference dedicated to the issue of a comprehensive treaty on security," Andrey Klimov, deputy chairman of the international affairs committee of the Federation Council, said.

He added that the treaty on security will be based on non-aligned relations.

The meeting is also expected to discuss possible joint legislative measures to fight illegal migration and ratification of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change at the soonest possible time, said Klimov. Endi
