Macedonia has more than 23,000 newborns in 2015

A total of 23,260 babies were born in Macedonia in 2015, Macedonian State Statistical Office (SSO) announced on Wednesday.

Among them, 185 were stillborn.

According to the SSO, male babies accounted for 51.8 percent of the newborns. The highest number of babies were delivered in July, during which 2,176 children were born.

The average age of the mother stands at 28.7 years. 34.5 percent of the liveborn babies were delivered by mothers aged between 25 and 29, according to the office.

In 2015, 13 liveborn babies were given birth by mothers younger than 15. Enditem
