Heat assistant Fizdale appointed Grizzlies head coach

Xinhua, May 30, 2016 Adjust font size:

Miami Heat assistant coach David Fizdale was named as the head coach of Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.

Fizdale replaced the NBA franchise's former coach Dave Joerger after his eight years of work with the Heat.

Fizdale, 41, won two NBA titles with Miami and has also been an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks.

The Grizzlies have lost in the first round of the playoffs in three of the past five years but reached the Western Conference final in 2013. Endit
