Argentinean President reveals assets worth 7.8 million USD

Xinhua, May 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

Argentinean President Mauricio Macri's asset declaration was made public on Thursday, revealing a personal worth of 110 million pesos (7.8 million U.S. dollars), including accounts in the Bahamas.

On Wednesday, Macri presented his first asset declaration as head of state to Argentina's anti-corruption authority, which released it to the public one day later.

In January 2015, Macri, then the mayor of Buenos Aires, had a net worth of 52.9 million pesos (3.77 million U.S. dollars), which had increased to 110 million pesos by December 2015.

To justify this increase, Macri said he had sold shares he held in a number of unspecified companies.

Of his total assets, over 18.7 million pesos (1.33 million U.S. dollars) are on accounts in the Bahamas. Enditem
