Indian stocks hit 2016 high

Indian stocks extended rally to a fourth consecutive session and closed at this year's high Thursday.

The day marked the expiry for May series futures & options contracts. It was also the day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government completed two years in office.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 26,366.68, 485.51 points or 1.88 percent up from the previous close of 25,881.17, with a turnover of 753.05 crore rupees (about 112.1 million U.S. dollars). Endit
