Colombian striker Jonathan Copete has agreed to join Brazilian giants Santos, according to media reports.

Copete arrived in Brazil on Wednesday to finalize contract terms and sign paperwork, the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper reported.

The 28-year-old has been in impressive form this year, helping Medellín outfit Atletico Nacional to the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores - South America's top club competition.

Copete's career has included spells with Argentina's Velez Sarsfield and Colombia's Independiente Santa Fe.

He joined Atletico Nacional in 2014, scoring 17 goals in 56 matches.

Santos, who have won Brazil's Serie A title eight times, are currently ninth in the 20-team league standings after two rounds of matches. Endit
