Singapore stocks close 0.6 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 16.43 points, or 0.6 percent, to close at 2,766.66.

A total of 1.05 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 793.7 million Singapore dollars (575.1 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 228 to 165, while 521 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 16.70 points, or 0.6 percent, to close at 2,750.23 on Tuesday. Enditem
