Jordan says political solutions key for global peace

Xinhua, May 25, 2016 Adjust font size:

King Abdullah II of Jordan on Tuesday said political solutions are cornerstone for global peace, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

The King made the remarks in a national televised address on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Independence Day of Jordan.

The King said Jordan will continue to defend the Palestinian issue, which tops the priorities of the Hashemites.

Jordan, he said, will continue to exert its utmost efforts to defend Jerusalem and the holy sites in Jerusalem.

In his address, the King said Jordan denounces all forms of violence and extremism.

He added that Jordan will continue to open its borders for all the Arabs despite its limited resources.

The King stressed that Jordan' unity is the key for the country's strength.

He added that Jordan will continue to defend the image of Islam and its noble values. Endit
