The millennial traditional Chinese medicine is preserved in the capital of Argentina, where a local school is demonstrating its efficient old medical techniques.
"TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) is a millennial form of healing and we are preserving it in spirit of learning," Orlando Gallardo, director of the School of Naturopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine, told Xinhua on Saturday.
Located in the district of Almagro, the school is aimed at training traditional Chinese medicine professionals by teaching them about diagnostics and therapies, he explained.
The school follows the World Health Organization's recommendations for a traditional Chinese medicine program, which includes acupuncture, pulse diagnosis, massage, acupressure, moxibustion, phytotherapy and relevant Chinese-language learning.
The school also teaches anatomy, physiology, biology, nutrition and pathology, psychology, communication with patients, ethics and care.
Gallardo added that his school receives people who are interested in traditional Chinese medicine, including health professionals, doctors, physical therapists, masseurs and martial artists, who seek to know how traditional Chinese medicine can help them maintain or improve health.
In the eyes of the director, the appeal of traditional Chinese medicine comes from its effectiveness. "It is the oldest medicine in the world, which helps maintain good health without causing any type of disorders."
He said traditional Chinese medicine helps maintain not only health, but also internal harmony. Endi
