Ruling party of Namibia to open ideology school

Xinhua, May 22, 2016 Adjust font size:

Namibia's ruling party Swapo will launch its school Monday that will teach the youth various aspects including history of the liberation war.

President Hage Geingob is expected to officially launch the school.

Swapo has been in power since Namibia attained independence in 1990.

Announcing the launch Sunday, the Swapo secretary Nangolo Mbumba said the school intends to train the youth into responsible citizens.

Mbumba said the school will focus on Namibia's history and that of the party and the economy.

According to Mbumba, the main aim of the school is to strengthen the party as well as ensure continuity once the current crop of leaders retire or pass on.

Swapo Party secretary for information and mobilization Helmut Angula said in 2015 that they wanted to train leaders who understand the best way to carry themselves as public figures and portray an exemplary image of the party. Endit
