Sami Allagui and Hertha Berlin have agreed on a one-year contract extension, the Bundesliga club confirmed on Friday.

The Tunisian international extends his spell in Germany' s capital after inking an contract until June 2017.

"During my injury Michal Preetz and the club stood always behind," Allagui said. "Especially after this hard year, I am highly motivated to repay the trust in me in the upcoming season."

The 29-year-old striker spent the whole season on the bench after suffering a complicated injury in his left knee back in July 2015.

Sami Allagui joined the "Herthaner" from Mainz in 2012 to mark 15 goals in 55 official games since his arrival.

Hertha Berlin completed the season on the 7th place of the Bundesliga standings to ensure a spot in UEFA Europa League. Endit
