Iran firms urged to invest more in southern provinces of Iraq

Xinhua, May 18, 2016 Adjust font size:

Chairman of Iran-Iraq Chamber of Commerce has urged Iranian investors to increase investment and trade with southern provinces of Iraq including Basrah, Iran's Petro-Energy Information Network reported on Wednesday.

Iraq's Basra Province is a good market for export of Iranian commodities including oil, gas, food, construction materials, technical and engineering services, Yahya Ale Eshaq was quoted as saying.

The Iranian official called for closer ties between Iran and Iraq and urged facilitation of custom, visa, banking, transportation and other relevant issues for Iraqi and Iranian merchants and entrepreneurs.

Iran has planned to hold its first trade and economic exhibition in Iraq's Basrah province on May 18-21, according to the report. Endit
