1st LD Writethru: 6 injured as twin blasts hit NW Pakistan

At least six people including two policemen were injured when twin blasts hit Pakistan's northwest Peshawar city on Wednesday morning, local Urdu media reported.

Samaa News reported that two policemen were injured when their vehicle was hit by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Mathra area of Peshawar, the capital city of the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The IED was fixed at the roadside, which hit the patrolling police vehicle at about 9:50 a.m. (local time).

The bomb disposal squad, media teams and rescue workers rushed to the blast site, shortly after the incident to do their respective jobs, when the second blast hit the same area.

Police said that the second blast, which was carried out by a remote controlled device, injured four people.

The injured people have been shifted to a nearby hospital.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
