Japan GDP grows annualized 1.7 pct in Q1 in 2016

The Japanese government said Wednesday that its gross domestic product grew an annualized 1.7 percent in real terms in the first quarter of 2016.

In inflation-adjusted terms, the growth corresponds to a 0.4 percent increase from the previous quarter.

Meanwhile, private consumption in the reporting period rose 0.5 percent in real terms. Endit
