Overseas Chinese organization leaders to convene in Beijing

Xinhua, May 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

Representatives of overseas Chinese organizations will convene in Beijing from June 1 to 3, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council said Tuesday.

The three-day conference will attract more than 650 leaders of overseas Chinese organizations from about 130 countries and regions.

The meeting will serve as a vital platform for overseas Chinese organizations to share experience and strengthen their bonds of friendship, said the office.

There are currently more than 25,000 overseas Chinese organizations around the globe, said Tan Tianxing, deputy director of the office.

Despite the growth of these organizations, their internal development and external cooperation and exchanges should be improved, said Tan, adding the meeting will help them better serve overseas Chinese people. Endi
