British FTSE 100 rises 0.21 pct on Monday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Monday rose by 0.21 percent, or 12.90 points, to 6,151.40 points.

Share price of Anglo American increased by 5.41 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Antofagasta, Tesco, Fresnillo and BHP Billiton increased by 3.35 percent, 3.12 percent, 3.05 percent and 2.09 percent respectively.

Provident Financial led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 1.87 percent, following by Inmarsat (1.58 percent), Shire (1.55 percent), Carnival (1.32 percent) and Barclays (1.12 percent). Endit
