Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia will carry out joint military exercises, Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov said Sunday in Gabala, a small town 200 km northwest of Baku, after a meeting among defense ministers of the three countries.

The minister has not specified the time of the exercises, which have also taken place in past years. (Azerbaijan-Military Exercises)

CAIRO -- China's Middle East Foundation for Peace and Development (MEFPD) launched here Sunday the Middle East Peace Forum to promote peacemaking efforts in the turmoil-stricken region.

LAGOS -- Nigeria is set to establish a Deoxyribonucleic Acid DNA data-bank with a view to deploying it in tracking criminal elements, especially terrorists in the country, Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama has said.

DHAKA -- A high-ranking leader of ex-Prime Minister Khaleda Zia's largest opposition party was arrested on Sunday in Bangladesh capital Dhaka for his alleged involvement in a oust-government plot.
