Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah will pay an official visit to China from Sunday to Wednesday at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. The following is a brief profile of the Afghan leader.

Abdullah, 56, graduated from Kabul University in 1978. He served as Afghanistan's foreign minister from 2001 to 2006, and has been Chief Executive of Afghanistan since September 2014.

Abdullah visited China many times when he was Afghanistan's foreign minister. As Afghanistan's chief executive, he attended the 14th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States held in China in 2015. Endi
