Roland Garros announces wildcards for 2016 tournament

The French tennis federation (FFT) has announced Thursday the wildcards for the men's and women's main draw as well as those for the qualifying draws.

Regarding an agreement with the Australian and United States Tennis Federations, a wildcard has been awarded in both draws (men' s and women' s) to a player from these two countries.

Following are the wildcard lists for the May 22-June 5 tournament (France unless stated):

Eight wildcards for the men' s singles - Gregoire BARRERE, Julien BENNETEAU, Mathias BOURGUE, Bjorn FRATANGELO (United States), Quentin HALYS, Constant LESTIENNE, Stephane ROBERT, Jordan THOMPSON (Australia)

Eight wildcards for the women' s singles - Tessah ANDRIANJAFITRIMO, Oceane DODIN, Myrtille GEORGES, Amandine HESSE, Alize LIM, Virginie RAZZANO, Taylor TOWNSEND (United States)

Note:The eighth wildcard will be awarded at a later date to an Australian player.

Nine wildcards for men' s singles qualifying - Matthew BARTON (Australia), Geoffrey BLANCANEAUX, Corentin DENOLLY, Jonathan EYSSERIC, Maxime HAMOU, Yannick JANKOVITS, Maxime JANVIER, Laurent LOKOLI, Gleb SAKHAROV

Eight wildcards for women' s singles qualifying - Manon ARCANGIOLI, Lou BROULEAU, Fiona FERRO, Stephanie FORETZ, Chloe PAQUET, Sherazad REIX, Margot YEROLYMOS
