The National Assembly, France's lower house of parliament, on Thursday rejected a censure motion against the government after the Socialist executive team used a decree to push through controversial labor reform.

The ruling Socialists survived their second no-confidence vote in parliament with 246 lawmakers backed the motion, falling short of the 289 votes needed for victory.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Manuel Valls had resorted to a 49-3 decree, to push through the law without parliament vote, because according to him, "It's an essential reform for enterprises and important for workers." Endit
