Daimler recalling Actros trucks in China

Xinhua, May 12, 2016 Adjust font size:

Daimler Trucks and Buses (China) Ltd. will recall 15 Actros trucks in China from Friday due to flange problems that may affect their universal joints, the country's top quality watchdog said on Thursday.

The recall affects some Mercedes-Benz Actros 2641 and 2644 models produced from Nov. 20, 2013 to Nov. 12, 2014, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) said in a statement on its website.

The recall follows concerns that an improper flange angle between the rear axles may cause overheating to the universal joint, possibly resulting in noise, vibration, and even the falling-off of the universal joint pins, according to the statement.

Daimler promised to check and repair the trucks at no charge. Endi
