DeRozan, Lowry bounce back to give Raptors 3-2 series lead

Toronto Raptors All-Stars DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry combined for 59 points in the team's 99-91 victory over Miami Heat in game five to take a 3-2 lead in their NBA's Eastern Conference Semi-Finals series on Wednesday evening.

After scoring 19 points on 6-for-27 (22.2 percent) shooting in game four, the duo bounced back with a 20-for-47 (42.6 percent) shooting performance in Wednesday's win.

"They're our guys," said Raptors head coach Dwane Casey proudly following the win in Toronto. "We can disparage them all we want to and talk about how bad their shooting is, but again, you don't forget how to shoot the basketball. It's going to come back."

DeRozan led the way with a game-high 34 points, matching his playoff career-best set in game five of the first round series against Pacers two weeks ago. His 11-for-22 (50 percent) effort from the field was his highest shooting percentage in a game in this postseason.

While Lowry wasn't as efficient with his shot, with a 9-for-25 shooting performance, he led the team in rebounds (10), assists (6), steals (3) and minutes played (41 minutes and 26 seconds).

"We have faith in those guys. They carried us the entire season, and no time did we doubt their ability to score the basketball and neither did their teammates," Casey added. "It was a matter of time before they got it back and now they have to ramp it up again for our next game."

The series now travels to Miami for game six on Friday evening. Raptors will look to close out the series and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history.

Should they fall short on Friday, the two squads will return to Toronto on Sunday to play in a game seven. Endit
